Lippelmann, Jr. desires to promote continued education beyond high school by providing scholarships to deserving students of the Decatur County area. SELECTION CRITERIA: 1. Academic Records 2. Grade Point Average 3. Attendance 4. Discipline 5. Participation and Leadership 6. Citizenship 7. Comments 8. Application SELECTION PROCESS: 1. Applicationmust be typed. Applications will be checked for accuracy, neatness, and completeness. As a part of the application process, applicants will need to attach an activities resume and a letter of reference from either a member of their high school educational staff or from an employer. Applications must be submitted prior to the established deadline of June 1. 2. Scholarships will be available to students, with no territorial limit, however with preference given to those applicants living in the Decatur County, Kansas area. 3. Scholarships are based first upon financial need and secondly upon scholastic ability. 4. Consideration in citizenship will be based upon the applicants attitude, effort, cooperation, reliability, and self-discipline, as determined by the Trustees, Principal, and Counselor. EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFICATIONS AND AWARDS: 1. Applicant must have maintained a 2.0 grade point average in high school. The scholarship will be determined by the recipients choice of higher education. The scholarship amount is based on the following: a) Four year college eight (8) semester payments of $350 b) Two year junior collegefour (4) semester payments of $350 *If the student desires to go on to a four year college, an additional four (4) semester payments of $350 will be available. c) Two year technical collegefour (4) semester payments of $350. Upon completion of a two year degree from a technical college, no additional money can be applied for. Upon proof of registration for the fall semester, $350 will be sent to the student and upon proof of registration for the spring semester, $350 will again be sent to the student. The recipient shall maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 during college enrollment to remain eligible for the scholarship. The recipient agrees to provide the Trustees with a copy of their grades as proof of eligibility. The amount of a scholarship will be $2,800. The number of scholarships available each year will be determined by interest monies generated from the principal investment. Recipients will be selected by the G.H. Lippelmann, Jr. Educational Trust No. 1 Trustees. Recipients will be notified in writing following the selection process, and will be announced following the decisions of the other major scholarship funds (i.e. Hill Scholarship, Willcoxon Scholarship, Townsend Scholarship) at Decatur Community Junior/Senior High School. Recipients involved in the other major scholarship funds will not be eligible to receive the Lippelmann Educational Trust Scholarship. G. H. LIPPELMANN, JR.
