Rough Start, Great Finish for Speech Team

The sun rose extra early last Wednesday morning for the Decatur Community High School forensics team, as they headed off to compete in Dighton.
The day got off to a rough, frustrating start. The tournament had a few delays but finally got started about 9:15 a.m.
The team didn't let the distractions throw them off track though. The team took fourth place out of 23. Four events and five people placed in the finals.
Jacinta Carter and Chenny Langness placed third in Duet Acting. Farra McChesney also placed third in Serious Solo.
Joe Hirsch placed fourth in Humorous Solo, and Hunter Nedland placed sixth in Extemporaneous speaking. Over all it was a good finish to a stressful morning.
