DCHS Students have "One"derful day at State Music

Oberlin musicians and vocalists came home from State Music with 18 superior ratings (I's) and 8 excellent ratings (II's).

To compete at state, the students first had to earn a I at Regional Music.

The mixed ensemble includes Chenny Langness, Amie Ritter, Kassia Bryan, Jaxen Alstrom, Alyssa Montgomery, Daniel Jordan, Kenzie Fisher, Jenny Ploussard, Ali Samson, Hunter Nedland, Jessica Bremer, Rory Wendelin, Joe Hirsch, Dalton Dolan, and Kyle Huntley.

The DCHS Singers include Jessica Bremer, Kenzie Fisher, Annamarie Larue, Amber Mason, Kira Meitl, Mary Olson, Haley Barrett, Ashley Horton, Makenzie Nelson, Jenny Ploussard, Rory Wendelin, Daniel Jordan, Chenny Langness, Jared Marcuson, Ethan Merrill, Jordan Tally, and Jay Wessel.

Chante includes Katie Glading, Emma Merrill, Rhiannon Davies, Carissa Wentz, Jacinta Carter, Sara Kyte, Stephanie Stone, Laysha Medina, Kortnie Fisher and Sydney Grafel.

The 4J’s are Jordan Tally, Joe Hirsch, Jacob Larue, and Ethan Jack Merrill.

The women’s ensemble includes Kira Meitl, Stephanie Stone, Kortnie Fisher, Ariel Coon, Tiffany Anderson, Emma Merrill, Erin Jones, Jordan McHugh, Rhiannon Davies, Mary Olson, Laysha Medina, Alex Ortiz, Haley Barrett, Ashley Horton, Tamara Ketterl, Annamarie Larue, Makenzie Nelson, Jacinta Carter, Carissa Wentz, Sara Kyte. And Sydney Grafel.

The sax quintet, the flute quartet, and the brass ensemble also all got I’s. The sax quintet includes Tiffany Anderson, Joe Hirsch, Jacinta Carter, Daniel Jordan, and Makenzie Nelson.

The flute quartet are Becky Helm, Alyssa Rippe, Nakita Bose, and Laysha Medina.

The brass ensemble includes Rhiannon Davies, Amber Mason, Katie Glading, Bret Ashley and Jaxen Alstrom.

The clarinet trio, the trumpet trio, and the B percussion trio all got II’s. The A percussion trio received a III.

The clarinet trio includes Jacob Helm, Chris Larson and Lakin Brown. The trumpet trio are Chenny Langness, Royal Fisher, and David Urban.

A Percussion trio includes Dakota Soderlund, Chad Williams and Everett Urban. B percussion trio are Rory Wendelin, Tim Larson and Kyle Huntley.

The music instructors at DCHS are Sarah Bricker and Susan Nelson.
