January 22- 24 was the K-State band clinic. This clinic is for students who participate in band and like to excel in the art of music.
The students who went to the clinic were Nakita Bose, Amanda Marshall, Joe Hirsch, Nolan Henningson, Darian Bose, Katie Glading, Bret Ashley, Matthew Helm, Samantha Anderson, Lizzy Nedland, Matt Glading, and Tim Larson. The students were sponsored by Mark and Sarah Bricker.
At the band clinic more than 600 musicians participated from 90 different Kansas schools. Each musician auditioned in front of his/her specific instrument specialist for a placement in one of the six bands.
Lizzy Nedland received the Outstanding Musician Award, which is given by the clinician of her band. Only a few of these awards were given in each band. The award comes with a scholarship to attend the KSU Band Camp held in the summer.
Amanda Marshall, Samantha Anderson, and Nolan Henningson were also placed in the top band.
