Mr. Matthew Micek was born in Atwood, Kansas in January of 1979 and was raised on the family farm in northwestern Rawlins County.
Coming from a family of seven, Matt has three older sisters and a younger brother. He graduated from Atwood High School in 1997 and then attended Fort Hays State University. After earning his college degree and teaching certificate in 2002, Matt took his first teaching job in Goodland Kansas. That year, he married Melissa Hart of Topeka, KS and together they have 3 children.
Currently, Mr. Micek resides at the family farm and teaches Industrial Arts and Drafting for Oberlin USD #294.
