DCHS volleyball teams sweep Hoxie and Wheatland/Grinnell

The DCHS volleyball teams set the bar high for the 2010-2011 Red Devil sports' teams by sweeping their first opponents of the season.
The varsity, junior varsity, and C teams won all of their matches on Friday, Aug. 27.
The varsity beat Hoxie 25-11, 25-22 and then Wheatland/Grinnell 25-13, 25-13. Jordan Dreher had 29 assists, 4 aces, and 1 dig. Kiah Blau led the team in kills with 8, followed by Rachelle Scott with 7, and Carissa Wentz and Jordan both with 6. Rachelle, Kiah, and Carissa also had 3 blocks a piece.
In the match against Wheatland/Grinnell, Jordan had 21 assists, 5 kills, 4 aces, and 1 dig. Miki Dorshorst led the team with 6 kills. She also had 18 assists and 2 digs. Jori Diederich had 4 aces.
The junior varsity beat Wheatland/Grinnell 15-13, 15-4 and Hoxie 15-13, 15-9.
The C team beat Hoxie 15-13, 15-7 and Wheatland/Grinnell 15-6, 7-15, and 15-8.
