Oberlin is 125 years old
There's going to be a parade!
August 31, 2010
The City of Oberlin is 125 years old!
Make plans now to celebrate this accomplishment by having an entry, or several entries, during the morning parade, which kicks off the day-long Quasquicentennial and Mini-Sapa Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 2.
The parade will begin at 10:00. There are numerous parade categories, including Children/Youth/Student Groups. Trophies will be awarded for first place in each category, and ribbons for second and third.
The Oberlin Chamber of Commerce invites all DCHS teams and organizations to consider having an entry in the parade. If you aren't playing volleyball that day, please consider it. (Those same entries could then be used in the Homecoming Parade the following week!)
Judging starts at 8:30 at the staging area on the Oberlin Cemetery street (Martin Avenue).
A completed entry form is due to the Chamber office by Sept. 24.
If interested, you can pick up an entry form from Mrs. Breth.
