The Scholar’s Bowl team started off their season with a 4-5 record at the Rawlins County Invitational. The team consisted of Sarah Abernathy, Kaylen Ashley, Isabel Grafel, Alex Hayward, Tyler McHugh, Kaden O’Hare, and Emily Howland.

The team defeated Rawlins County, St. Francis, Quinter, and Wallace County and lost to Cheylin, Norton, Goodland, Golden Plains, and Colby.

Junior Tyler McHugh has already set some goals for the season.  “My goal is for us to win more and place higher and hopefully high enough at regional to move on,” said Tyler.

Senior Emily Howland said she was pleased with how the team did for the first tournament of the year, seeing as how the team lost two influential seniors from last year, Adrian Chambers and Luke Koerperich.

Isabel answered nine questions total, one of which was “What is the study of blood?” (Hematology). Kaylen also answered nine questions. Kaden, Alex, and Emily all answered three. Tyler answered one question, which was “What 1968 Heisman Trophy winner was recently paroled?  (OJ Simpson).
