The DCHS Scholars' Bowl team kept the second-place medals right at home after hosting their home meet Tuesday, Nov. 7. The Red Devils finished with a record of 7-2. Trego finished in first with a record of 8-1. Norton rounded out the top three also with a record of 7-2. Because Oberlin beat Norton, Oberlin was rewarded with second place.

The Red Devils won rounds against Goodland 70 - 30, Oakley 40 - 0, Trego 60 - 10, Colby 30 - 10, Norton 70 - 20, and Phillipsburg 40 - 10.

The team consisted of Isabel Grafel, Emily Howland, Kaylen Ashley, Alex Hayward, Faith Meitl, Kaden O'Hare, and Tyler McHugh.

Kaden was pleased with the tournament: "Our team's performance was much improved, and we finished strong to secure a second-place finish."

Faith led the team by answering 12 questions correctly, followed by Isabel and Emily with eight, Alex with five, and Kaylen and Kaden answering four.

"Our performance was better than we did at Atwood," said Kaylen.
