Decatur Community High School hosted its 13th annual blood drive on Wednesday, Nov. 7. The goal was 60 pints, but the drive fell short with only 51 pints collected.
Over half of the donors were high school students. Kensey Garrett, a first time donor, said she became a little light headed after donating, but she plans to give again. “The people from the Red Cross were very nice,” said Kensey.
Clayton Carter, who donated for the fifth time on Wednesday said, “I like donating blood because it is a good way to help people.” She said she plans to keep giving blood in the future.
The drive was run entirely by students from Student Council, National Honor Society, and FFA. Students served as receptionists and donor escorts and also ran the canteen.
