Seventeen students, staff members, and community members left for Costa Rica on March 8. They flew out of Denver at midnight.

Vacationers include Carol Brown, Janell Marchello, Sierra Lohoefener, Anna Carter, Sage Lohoefener, Amy Wentz, Katie Meitl, KeLynn Jacobs, Gracie Vontz, Emma Anderson, Mackenzie Urban, Eryn Freeman, Spencer Wishon, Reegon Witt, Lois Wentz, Sherri Jacobs, and Kelly Brown.

"I'm looking forward to going to the beach and seeing the sunrises and sunsets,” said KeLynn.

The tourists will land in Liberia, Costa Rica after a five-hour flight. They will also travel to Ricon de la Vieja, Sarapiqui, and Tortuguero.

"I am excited to go to Costa Rica because I love to travel and see all of the beauty the world holds for us,” said Mrs. Marchello.  I'm excited to meet people and learn about another culture that is different from mine.  I also really want to see a sloth and some monkeys there.”

Their adventures will include going to the beach, horseback riding, zip lining, relaxing at a hot spring, and biking to Lake Arenal. They will also do a red-eyed tree frog night walk, a school visit, and a sightseeing tour of Tortuguero.

Mackenzie said she's most looking forward to zip lining. Katie is also excited for zip lining as well as the food. "I'm looking forward to seeing the kids at the school, the beach, the sun, and the hot springs," said Gracie.

"It will be nice to go somewhere warm, and we will do a lot of things that most of the kids have never done before,” said Senora Brown. “I think it will be a great experience for all."
