Education:  I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Chadron State College in Biology and Geology.  I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.  I have a Masters of Science Degree in Administration from Fort Hays State University.  I have over 60 hours of graduate hours past my Masters degree.

Biographical Information:  This is the start of my 33rd year of service to USD #294.  It is the start of my 20th year as elementary prinicpal and 6th year in my dual role as superintendent. I started in the fall of 1983 as a science teacher and coach at Decatur Community Jr/Sr High School.  My wife Pat has taught math at the high school level for 33 years, and currently serves as the boy's and girl's cross country coach. We have raised four daughters in this wonderful community who all received outstanding educations thanks to the dedicated professionals, and support staff, that work in our school system.  Our oldest three have followed our footsteps and are in the field of education.  Our youngest will be a junior at the University of Kansas and is majoring in Biology with an emphasis on pre-Physical Therapy.  We have been blessed with two grandsons and two granddaughters!  I am starting my 2nd year as a board member for the National Association of Elementary School Principals.  I represent Zone 8 which includes the states of Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri.  I am proud to represent our school district on this prestigous board.  This is also my second year on the "Council of Superintendents" in Kansas.  This is an advisory committee to the Kansas Department of Education, and the State Board of Education, that meets seven times a year.  I represent the counties of Decatur, Rawlins, Cheyenne, Sherman, and Thomas.
