DCHS places 2nd at Smith Center
DCHS Journalism
The DCHS Wrestling Team placed second at the first ever Western Kansas Tournament of Champions held in Smith Center on January 28. This tournament included all of the Northwest Kansas League teams and the Mid-Continent League teams. The Red Devils had three champions: Dayton Dreher at 126 pounds, Brent Juenemann at 132, and Kade Brown at 145. The team had 10 wrestlers place in the top 6. Several of our DCHS band students traveled to K-State to participate in the KSU Band Clinic on January 20-22. Each year, hundreds of Kansas high schoolers attend the clinic and improve their musicianship. This year, there were approximately 700 students in attendance.

The National Honor Society inducted 13 members at their annual banquet on January 23 at the Gateway in Oberlin.
New members include Kyle Breth, Kennedy Fortin, Konner Fortin, Baron Green, Alexis Hissong, Kayla Jones, Caleb Koerperich, Sierra Lohoefener, Hannah May, Brooklyn O'Hare, Jalyn Shaw, Megan Wentz, and Lara Zodrow.
