Taite Woolsey to lead Halloween Clean-Up

Halloween Clean-Up has been postponed to Friday, Nov. 6 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The kids will meet at DCHS this year - not OES:

5th grade and freshmen - east parking lot by music wing

6th grade and sophomores - east parking lot by the industrial arts shop

7th grade and juniors - back lot by stadium

8th grade and seniors - back lot by trash bin

Senior Taite Woolsey has been chosen by the student body as the 2020 Halloween Clean-Up General.

Halloween Clean-Up is a tradition at DCHS that dates back to the 1920s.  Every year, students in grades 5 through 12 work together to clean up yards around town. The fifth graders are paired up with the freshmen, sixth graders with sophomores, and so on. Each group is led by a senior “captain.”

Each year, the teachers choose five captains from the senior class to lead the clean-up.  From that list of five, students in grades 7-12 choose the Halloween Clean-Up General, who is in charge of organizing the clean-up.

This year’s Halloween Clean-Up captains are Sarah Abernathy, Emma Anderson, Lily Hendrickson, and Gracie Vontz.

At 7:00, the students will gather back at the high school for hotdogs.

If you would like your yard raked, please call the high school at 475-2231.
