Pictures of our First Day of School - Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021
Faculty trivia, first-day-of-school pictures, a human scavenger hunt, a mid-morning snack, and, of course, snow cones -- all made up our first day of the 2021-22 school year.
The students learned a bit about their teachers and about each other with a faculty Kahoot game, followed by a human scavenger hunt. Classes were shortened in order to add a little fun to the day.
Mrs. Breth also explained all of the cactuses in the building. DCHS is using the theme "Be SHARP" this year, which is represented with the cactus. SHARP stands for five adjectives that USD 294 is emphasizing this school year: self-aware, hard working, appreciative, resilient, and positive.
We ended the day with snow cones, a tradition that started years ago when Mr. Jimenez was principal.
