Congratulations to the DCHS Speech Team on a great season.
DCHS competed in Hutchinson along with 36 other 1A schools on Saturday in Hutchinson. DCHS took two IDA teams: Aidyn Witt/ Weston Barnes and Keely Huff/ Jordon Ruzicka. There were a total of 27 IDA teams competing.
Aidyn and Weston broke to semi-finals, but not finals placing 9th overall.
DCHS also had a Duet Acting team, Aidyn Witt and Ellison Anderson, qualify for state. They had only performed their piece one time before state. "They just act well together, said Coach Gina Witt," and they slowly kept improving at state, but they were unable to break into the semi final round."
"All the judges said that the kids worked very well together and seemed to have good chemistry," said Mrs. Witt. "I am very excited for next year. We have some incredibly talented kiddos, and I cannot wait to see what they can do with a little experience under their belts. The was most of the kids' first ever experience with forensics, so I am extremely proud of each and every one of them."
