Here is more information for parents and attendees:
All Prom activities including Promenade, the Formal Dinner and the Dance are under the supervision of the Junior Class Sponsors, Administration and community sponsors.
All After-Prom Activities are under the supervision of the Senior Parents, Administration and community sponsors.
Students are asked to bring a bag with a change of clothes (don't forget hangers for formal wear!) to the Gateway. These bags are to be considered an extension of their school lockers and are subject to search for unauthorized items. The students’ bags will be checked in by ROTARY when they arrive, and the bags will be off limits during the dance, so items like inhalers, cameras, etc., that may be needed during the dance should be kept separate. An accessible location will be provided for these items. **PLEASE TAKE YOUR CHANGE OF CLOTHES FOR AFTER PROM TO THE GATEWAY BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 4:30 p.m. AND 5:30 p.m. ROTARY WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THAT TIME.
Tuxes/Suits that were rented from the Dresser should be left at the Gateway. We will have a rack set aside for them. Girls should bring dress bags for their dresses. We will bring them down to post prom for them.
Students will be subject to a breathalyzer test before entering the dance.
Pop and water will be available throughout the evening. Students who display signs of intoxication will be subject to a breathalyzer test and dismissal from the dance. Parents will be called first, and if they are unable to collect students, police will be called. Other disciplinary action will be taken later.
If students decide to leave during the evening's festivities, the time of their departure will be noted, and they will not be allowed to return for any of the later events. Parents who wish to be notified if their son or daughter leaves before the scheduled departure time or during After-Prom, may request a phone call from senior parents by contacting the DCHS Office at 475-2231 by Thursday, March 26th to get on the call list.
On Friday, March 27th, the Junior class will be decorating at the Gateway all day. They will need to arrive at the Gateway 8:00 a,m, Friday. Students will be expected to stay and help until the task is completed unless they need to leave for an activity. If students are causing trouble they will be sent back to the school. Students will be served pizza for lunch.
There has been much consideration and effort given to making this an evening to remember for all of our students. Please review this schedule with your son or daughter and recommend that they take part in the planned activities for the entire evening. We urge all students to show their appreciation of the efforts of our community by their participation in the activities.
Juniors will return to the Gateway on Sunday 3/29 from 2pm -5pm for clean up.
